About Me
I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (commonly called the U.P.). As a kid, I have played every sport I could. I moved to Breckenridge, Colorado after graduating from Central Michigan University. I found my passion of helping others during the three years I lived in Breckenridge. That passion led me to Colorado Springs and UCCS, where I attended graduate school. I am a proud two-time UCCS graduate and a current PhD student in the Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy program at UCCS. Prior to being an academic advisor, I worked in PK-12 education for fourteen years as a school counselor (elementary, middle, and high school) and a high school administrator. My family and I are UCCS Mountain Lions through and through. My wife is a faculty member at UCCS. When I am not at UCCS, I enjoy being active and spending as much time as I can with my family.
